  9. Introduction
  10. ------------
  11. «AminetIdx» is an easiest manner for displaying, finding and doing your
  12. shopping into Aminet INDEX, using the best combination available:
  13. MUI (© Stefan Stuntz) and NList.mcc (© Gilles Masson).
  14. «AminetIdx» is freeware but copyrighted by me, it parses and split Aminet
  15. INDEX into dirs and subdirs, and enable filtering the display with pattern
  16. and age.  Sorting is also possible in any order you want.

  18. Main features includes
  19. ----------------------
  20.  - dirs and subdirs list
  21.  - pattern filter appliable on 'Files' and/or 'Descriptions'
  22.  - age filter, with some fast presets
  23.  - sorting by click on columns title
  24.  - marked file list for shopping purpose
  25.  - save marked files as ascii file
  26.  - check if marked files exists on your hd aminet tree dir

  28. Requirements
  29. ------------
  30.  - Kickstart 2.0 or higher
  31.  - Workbench 2.1 or higher
  32.  - MUI 3.1 or higher (not provided -> util/libs)
  33.  - NList.mcc (not provided -> dev/mui)
  34.  - Enough memory (according to size of the INDEX loaded)

  36. Getting started
  37. ---------------
  38. 1) select an INDEX, it should be loaded and parsed...
  39.  
  40. 2) it is now ready to use, change displayed dir, filter, sort...
  41.  
  42. 3) you can mark a file by double clicking on it
  43.  
  44. 4) once you have set the 'Aminet Root', you can test if marked files
  45.    already exist in your hd, e.g, my hd feature the complete Aminet dir tree
  46.    with files downloaded on it, 'Test Exists ?' button will check files to
  47.    avoid downloading already existing ones, 'Aminet Root' should be set to
  48.    the root aminet dir on your hd.

  50. 5) you can also save these marked files into an ascii file
